HOME INFORMATION PACKS (HIPs)

As from 1st August 2007, if you are selling a property with 4 or more bedrooms, you will need to have a Home Information Pack prepared before you can market/sell your property.

We can produce a Home Information Pack (HIP) for you through the Law Society’s official provider (with credit facility): alternatively we can produce a “Hughes & Co” HIP with full Local Authority search. Both compete in price with HIPs produced by Estate Agents or other HIP providers.

If you would like us to check a HIP produced by an Estate Agent or other HIP provider we will do so for £50 + Vat, inclusive of advice on the HIP. The £50 + vat fee will be deducted from our conveyancing fee if you instruct us to act on your behalf on your sale. Many of these HIPs will be unacceptable to purchaser’s solicitors and we can advise you on this.
